Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) in Clinical Genomics Working Group
Despite growing interest and adoption of AI-driven tools, there is currently no clear baseline understanding of how these technologies are being implemented in clinical laboratories, nor are there widely accepted professional guidelines to support their use. This working group will develop and distribute a comprehensive survey to evaluate current knowledge, utilization, and integration of AI/ML tools in cancer genomics workflows, identify challenges and priorities for implementation, and review the literature to inform expert recommendations. The project aims to establish a foundational understanding of the current landscape, highlight gaps and barriers, and ultimately contribute to best-practice strategies for the field. Deliverables will include a peer-reviewed publication summarizing survey findings, key needs, and expert guidance.

Predisposition to Hematological Malignancies Working Group
As tumor-based genomic testing becomes more widely used, laboratories and clinicians are increasingly encountering variants that may suggest underlying germline predisposition, yet approaches to recognizing, interpreting, and reporting these findings vary across institutions. This working group will review the literature, assess current practices within the community, and develop practical guidance to support consistent identification and communication of tumor-derived variants that may indicate inherited risk with the goal of developing best practices for identifying potential inherited risk through tumor molecular profiling. Planned tasks include a survey of current laboratory approaches, educational resources, conference presentations, and a peer-reviewed manuscript to promote clarity and standardization in this evolving area.
